That scene when Bucky is in Bucharest and he notices the man in the stand looking at him breaks my heart. His expression is so painful. Bucky was really just trying to live a normal life, buying fruit, looking at both sides before crossing the road, just a normal guy doing his business but then someone looks at him as more than that, as the Winter Soldier, and it’s painful to watch Bucky’s eyes sink in the remembrance of what he’s done, unwillingly.
OK BUT WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT HO GREAT SCOTT LANG WAS ON CIVIL WAR???? LIKE HE WAS JUST TOO GRATEFUL TO BE THERE WITH CAPTAIN AMERICA AND PRAISED SCARLET/WANDA WHEN HE SAID SHE WAS GREAT AND SHE SMILED AND WHEN HE GRABBED STEVE’S SHIELD FROM SPIDERMAN AND HE WAS SO PROUD OF HIMSELF AND WHEN HE SAID “SOMETHING JUST FLEW IN ME” AND CALLED HAWKEYE “ARROW GUY” AND SAID TO TONY HE WAS HIS COINCIDENCE AND THAT THEY DIDN’T TALK TOO MUCH LATELY AND WHEN HE WAS A GIANT ANT AND TONY BASICALLY PRAISED HIM SAYING IF ANYONE ON HIS TEAM HAD ANY MORE COOL POWERS AS HIM. SCOTT LANG IS SO UNDER APPRECIATE AND HE NEEDS LOVE
And im crying again.
I just absolutely adore it when steve asks bucky why he pulled him out of the river and bucky says I don’t know but steve replies yes u do. bucky clearly knows why he did it but is terrified of his life affecting steve and steve knows this but doesn’t care, all he wants is his best friend bucky back
did anyone else notice when tony knocks steve down toward the end of the fight in siberia, and steve struggles to drag himself back to his feet, and we cut to a wider shot that makes everyone, but especially steve, look so fucking small, and it’s like steve is a little guy in brooklyn again fighting off the bullies, and he stands up and wobbles a bit just like he did in that scene in catfa, but his eyes are hard as steel when they meet tony’s, and he says, for the thousandth time, i can do this all day
then, even though he’s laid out on the cold stone, beaten and bloody and broken, even though he’s half-unconscious and he just lost his goddamn arm fighting tony, bucky takes steve’s words like a cue, drags himself toward tony as best he can, and his best isn’t that great right now, but it’s enough, because he grabs tony’s ankle and tony’s distracted from steve, turning around to fight off a defenseless bucky, which gives steve the opening he needs
did anyone else notice that even though he’s totally shattered and half-dead himself, bucky jumps into this fight same as the one we saw way back in 1943, same as all the other fights steve started back in brooklyn but couldn’t finish alone; did anyone else notice that even though this whole fight was about steve saving bucky, in the end, it was still bucky who saved steve?
